Ignatius Kangave Musaazi
Ignatius Kangave Musaazi, known widely as I.K, is a young technologist and leader who holds that technology should simply work, in every aspect of life. That conviction has shaped his career and it explains why the problems he chooses to solve are practical, human and close to home.
As Co-Founder and CEO of Wike Tech Africa Limited, he leads a company that builds technology around real needs. Since 2020 his work has crossed education, health and community development. He volunteered with the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) and serves as an Assistant Trainer with No Means No Worldwide, an international NGO dedicated to empowerment and safety.
Leadership is not something I.K learned on campus; it is something he inherited. He is a grandson of the late I.K. Musaazi, the political hero who founded the Uganda National Congress and is remembered as the Father of Political Parties in Uganda, and he carries both the name and the sense of public duty that came with it. That heritage showed itself early. Even in primary school he was a leader among his peers, and the habit of stepping forward to serve stayed with him. In secondary school it grew into formal office: he served as Speaker of the Students’ Council at Ordinary Level and rose to become President of the Students’ Council at Advanced Level. At Nkumba University the pattern continued and matured. He was elected Guild President for 2023 to 2024 and sat on the University Council, where he represented the student body at the highest level of institutional decision making. He also served as Assistant Secretary of the Baganda Nkobazambogo Students’ Association, which brings together Baganda students at the university and gives them a platform for fellowship and cultural identity. He is remembered for lobbying and coordinating the installation of WiFi in student hostels, which gave students access to digital learning where they live. He also attended numerous conferences on strengthening leadership in higher institutions of learning. His commitment to public service has since reached the national stage. He was a candidate in the 2025/26 Youth Member of Parliament elections, and his articles in national newspapers on youth wellbeing, digital inclusion and education have kept these issues in public conversation. In Nakaseke District, where he serves as a Youth Leader, he mentors young people toward opportunities in the digital economy.
His academic foundation reflects the same instinct for problem solving. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Diploma in Information Technology from Nkumba University, and is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management. His Bachelor’s research produced an Electronic Fare Collection and Operations Management System for Uganda’s transport sector. His Diploma research produced a nationwide system for tracking stolen and lost gadgets. Even as a student, he was building solutions for real problems.
He describes himself as a lifelong learner and a student of life. In his own words, the principle that guides him is simple: Technology should simply work.
